Say hello to our NEW Melon Fast20.
It’s a 2 or 3 day program of drinking 8 500ml watermelon
raw juices a day.

Press link in bio.

This is not a diet. This is for cleansing purposes. It’s
great for your liver and kidney.
————

Watermelon is by far one of the most beneficial
body-healing fruits. The health benefits of watermelon
cover everything from brain function to the cells in your
feet. Watermelon is incredibly hydrating (up to 92%
water!) and is naturally low-fat. Benefits include
improving cardiovascular health, nourishing your eyes
and revving up your immune system. We are entering
summer, the best time to indulge in this juicy melon that
delivers an array of nutrients, vitamin and minerals.

Watermelon helps the liver process ammonia (waste
from protein digestion) which eases strain on the
kidneys while getting rid of excess fluids. Rich in
potassium, watermelon is a great natural electrolyte and
helps regulate the action of nerves and muscles in the
body.

watermelon has many other nutrients as well, including
these vitamins and minerals:
Vitamin C
Vitamin A
Potassium
Magnesium
Vitamins B1.

Watermelon is also high in Cucurbitacin E, carotenoids,
including beta-carotene and lycopene. Plus, it has
citrulline, an important amino acid.

It appears to reduce cancer risk by lowering insulin-like
growth factor (IGF), a protein involved in cell division.
High IGF levels are linked to cancer.

In addition, cucurbitacin E has been investigated for its
ability to inhibit tumor growth.

Improves Heart Health.

Watermelon helps lower inflammation and oxidative
damage, as it’s rich in the anti-inflammatory antioxidants
lycopene and vitamin C.

Citrulline, an amino acid in watermelon helps reduce
muscle soreness. Interestingly, watermelon juice
appears to enhance the absorption of citrulline.

Two vitamins in watermelon — A and C — are important
for skin and hair health.

Vitamin C helps your body make collagen, a protein that
keeps your skin supple and your hair strong.

Vitamin A is also important for healthy skin since it
helps create and repair skin cells. Without enough
vitamin A, your skin can look dry and flaky.

The asparagus juice this morning wanted to
hang in the tree to soak up the ☀️ sun.
I personally drink asparagus juice every day if I am able
to. In this 500ml glass bottle, it’s 70 percent asparagus,
30 percent is apple, lemon and ginger.
Asparagus juice alone is actually sweet to be honest. I
add the other three to help with the absorption and give
it an immune fighting kick.
Happy Sunday to you all, and if you are on the other
side of the world Happy evening to you all.

Asparagus juice is amazing. This Glass bottle right here has asparagus, apple, lemon, ginger.

Let’s talk about the massive health benefits of asparagus:

Asparagus is a good source of vitamin K. The vitamin is crucial for coagulation (which helps your body stop bleeding after a cut) as well as bone health. Most people think of calcium for healthy bones, but vitamin K is also important. It can actually help your body absorb calcium.

Four asparagus spears contain 22% of your recommended daily allowance of folic acid, making asparagus great for pregnancy.

When it comes to fighting bloat, asparagus packs a punch. The veggie helps promote overall digestive health (another benefit of all that soluble and insoluble fiber!). And thanks to prebiotics—carbohydrates that can’t be digested and help encourage a healthy balance of good bacteria, or probiotics, in your digestive track—it can also reduce gas. Plus, as a natural diuretic, asparagus helps flush excess liquid, combating belly bulge.

Asparagus is also a source of vitamin E, another important antioxidant. This vitamin helps strengthen your immune system and protects cells from the harmful effects of free radicals.

Asparagus is full of folate, a B vitamin that could lift your spirits and help ward off irritability. Researchers have found a connection between low levels of folate and vitamin B12 in people who are suffering from depression, leading some docs to prescribe daily doses of both vitamins to patients with depression. Asparagus also contains high levels of tryptophan, an amino acid that has been similarly linked to improved mood.

How beautiful is this raw juice. I can’t get over the beautiful colour.

This is carrot, lemon and ginger.

Now let’s talk health benefits of carrots:

The three most important elements of carrots are beta-corotene, vitamin A and phytochemicals. There is powerful health benefits including beautiful skin, cancer prevention, and anti-aging. With that said they also improve muscle, soft tissue and skin health. While reducing the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure, while boosting immunity and protecting the skin against sun damage.
Studies have shown carrots reduce the risk of lung cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer. because of falcarinol and falcarindiol which they feel cause the anticancer properties. The high levels beta-carotene also act as an antioxidant to cell damage done to the body through regular metabolism. It helps slow down the aging of cells. Beta Carotene is also converted into vitamin A in the liver, which helps our retina. Carrots are good for the eyes. Vitamin A and antioxidants protects the skin from sun damage. Deficiencies of vitamin A cause dryness to the skin, hair and nails. This vitamin helps prevent premature wrinkling, acne, dry skin, pigmentation, blemishes, uneven skin tone. Vitamin A assists the liver in flushing out the toxins from the body.
It reduces the bile and fat in the liver. The fiber in carrot juice helps clean out the colon and waste movement. Carrots have not only beta-carotene but also alpha-carotene and lutein. The regular consumption of carrots also reduces cholesterol levels because the soluble fibers in carrots binding with bile acids.

I think “powerful green” juice is feeling it deserves to be included with these two powerful animals. In all fairness it will make you feel like those two beautiful creatures.

Eye of the tiger and power of the lion.
In life you must be both the tiger and the lion. They are both the biggest, stronger and smartest in the cat family.

Can you tell who my favourite animals are? 😉🤣😂. Which is weird cause I love love dogs as well.

Contact to sunlight is a powerful medicine.

If you suffer from a hormone issue, then one of the most powerful ways to reset your system, is to reconnect to the timing of the sunrise and set.

Our bodies contain remarkable eye-like receptor systems that set off cascades as UV light contacts all surfaces of our skin.

Today we’re discovering just how powerful sunlight really is.

The beneficial effect of UVB light for vitamin D levels is well known.⠀

The major source of vitamin D for humans is exposure of the skin to sunlight (UVB 280‐315 nm) resulting in the conversion of cholesterol to pre-vitamin D3.⠀

Vitamin D has a mood‐modulating effect via its pathway to the brain.

The recent discovery that the human brain also possesses vitamin D receptors, indicates that mood and depressive disorders might be influenced by vitamin D deficiency directly, by acting on brain cells.

Yet, this is only a small portion of the benefits of sunlight.

The electromagnetic energy of solar radiation reaching Earth’s surface encompasses infrared (700 nm to 1 mm), visible (400 to 700 nm), and UV (290 to 400 nm).⠀

Via the skin-brain axis, the sun’s energy transforms to chemical signals in the body beyond vitamin D.⠀

When exposed to UV, the skin can send the following messages:

• Varieties of steroids ⠀
• Growth hormone⠀
• Nitric oxide⠀
• Peptides⠀
• Thyroid hormones⠀
• Serotonin and melatonin⠀

The immune system of the skin communicates with this diffuse neuroendocrine system in a bidirectional fashion.⠀

Nitric oxide is produced as a powerful regulator of skin homeostasis; at the same time, NO is a mediator of the immunological, melanogenic, and neurologic effects of UV.⠀

Through the skin there is an eye-like skin photosensory system that like the eyes, releases hormones from the brain.⠀

Importantly to balance any endocrine organ, it’s important to expose the skin to morning sun.⠀

Watching the sunrise, and getting sun before 10am allows the endocrine system to receive UV regulators, it may also optimize how you receive vitamin D stimulating UVB light.

Do you feel better after getting sunlight?

Here’s the truth about “FDA approved” ingredients in our food...” .

New ingredients are often approved by the manufacturer themselves, and not by the FDA.

The FDA is sometimes not even aware that a new ingredient has been introduced into our food.

The FDA allows food manufacturers to do their own testing to determine if an additive is safe. If the company deems it safe, they can go ahead and use it without any input from the agency or the public. This testing is generally performed on animals, who get a large dose in a relatively short time. The whole process screams blatant conflict of interest!

That’s right – all an ingredient manufacturer has to do is hire their own experts to claim it’s “not harmful” and the manufacturer may deem it as “GRAS”, which stands for “Generally Recognized as Safe”. This is the green light to start adding it to food products.

This practice is nothing short of alarming, and is allowing companies to skirt around the FDA and essentially put whatever they want into our food.

The FDA is asleep at the wheel and the Food Industry is in charge. So imagine the other industries.

For these reasons, I believe that we need to take responsibility for our own health and not rely on the government or anyone else to protect us.

This is why we must read the ingredient lists on the food we eat – if you don’t recognize the ingredient, put it down and look for real food.

Please share this with your friends and family, and with anyone who tries to tell you that an ingredient is safe just because it’s “approved” by the FDA!

Hibiscus tea has been used in African countries to decrease body temperature, treat heart disease, and sooth a sore throat. In Iran, hibiscus tea is used to treat high blood pressure.
Recent studies have looked at the possible role of hibiscus in the treatment of high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

When your orange juice wants to catch sun rays and soak in that vitamin D.

Why is raw organic orange juice great???

- Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C. That helps to get of free radicals that cause damage to our DNA.
Vitamin C, which is also vital for the proper function of a healthy immune system, is good for preventing colds and preventing recurrent ear infections.

- did you know one orange contains 60mg of calcium?

- Anti-oxidants in oranges help protect skin from free radical damage known to cause signs of aging.

- Oranges, being rich in Vitamins B6, help support the production of haemoglobin and also help keep blood pressure under check due to the presence of magnesium.

- Fibre in oranges help by keeping blood sugar levels under control thereby making oranges a healthy snack for people with diabetes. Moreover, oranges have simple sugars. The natural fruit sugar in oranges, fructose, can help keep blood sugar levels from rising too high after eating.

- Oranges contain D- limonene, a compound that is touted to prevent cancers like lung cancer, skin
cancer and even breast cancer. Vitamin C and antioxidants present in oranges are both important to build body’s immunity – they help in fighting cancer. The fibrous nature of the fruit also makes it cancer protective. According to a study, up to 15 per cent of cancer cases happen because of mutations in the DNA, which can be prevented with Vitamin C.

- While the basic nature of oranges is acidic before you actually digest them, they have a lot of alkaline minerals that play a role in the process of digestion. This property of oranges is similar to that of lemons, which are without doubt among the most alkaline foods.

- Oranges are a rich source of carotenoid. The Vitamin A present in them play an important role in keeping the mucus membranes in the eyes healthy. Vitamin A is also responsible to prevent age-related mascular degeneration, which in extreme cases can lead to blindness. It also helps eyes to absorb the light.

- Oranges have both soluble and insoluble fibre. This helps in keeping your intestines and stomach function smooth, preventing irritable bowel syndrome.

What's in your fridge? Raw juices are not just for doing a juice cleanse. One of the most important results of giving your cells a healthy dose of fresh raw Organic cold pressed juices daily is that it will help to maintain the pH balance (potential hydrogen) of your body. 1 to 14 is the range of the pH scale, 1 being extremely acidic and 14 being extremely alkaline. The ideal pH level is slightly alkaline, between 7 and 7.5. Too often our cells become too acidic, and the more that this happens the less able they are to transport oxygen throughout our bodies. Our environment and the foods we eat we contribute to much acid, making it difficult to maintain a healthy pH.
Wether you do a tailored juice cleanse, raw food cleanse or stock your fridge weekly subscriptions with raw juices and or raw food, your body will thank you.

"Battle" raw juice: Apple, lemon, cucumber and turmeric root.
If you’ve ever suffered from unexplainable pain, swelling, or headaches.
If you’ve ever felt depressed or sluggish and couldn’t explain why?
If you’ve ever been warned about being pre-diabetic and you weren’t sure how to get your blood-sugar levels under control this helps.
Turmeric is hands down one of the, if not the, most versatile healing spice in the world with over 600 experimentally confirmed health benefits, and an ancient history filled with deep reverence for its seemingly compassionate power to alleviate human suffering.

The health benefits of celery are more than just lowering blood pressure. They also contain at least eight families of
anti-cancer compounds to combat cancer.
Celery leaves has high content of vitamin A, whilst the stems are an excellent source of vitamins B1, B2, B6 and C with rich supplies of potassium, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, sodium and plenty essential amino acids.

Nutrients in the fiber are released during juicing, aiding bowel movements. The natural organic sodium (salt) in celery is very safe for consumption, in fact is essential for the body. Even individuals who are salt-sensitive can safely take the sodium in celery, unlike table salt (iodised sodium) which is harmful for those with high blood pressure.

While many foods lose nutrients during cooking, most of the compounds in celery hold up well during cooking

Some of the health benefits of celery juice:

Acidity: The important minerals in this magical juice effectively balance the body's blood pH, neutralizing acidity.

Athletes: Celery juice acts as the perfect post-workout tonic as it replaces lost electrolytes and rehydrates the body with its rich minerals.

Cancer: Celery is known to contain at least eight families of anti-cancer compounds. Among them are the acetylenics that have been shown to stop the growth of tumor cells. Phenolic acids which block the action of prostaglandins that encourage the growth of tumor cells. And coumarins which help prevent free radicals from damaging cells.

Cholesterol: This humble pale juice has been shown to effectively and significantly lower total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Colon and stomach cancer: The phytochemical coumarins prevent the formation and development of the colon and stomach cancers.

Constipation: The natural laxative effect of celery helps to relieve constipation. It also helps relax nerves that have been overworked by man-made laxatives.

Cooling: During dry and hot weather, drink a glass of celery juice two or three times a day, between meals. It wonderfully helps to normalize body temperature.

Diuretic: The potassium and sodium in celery juice helps to regulate body fluid and stimulate urine production, making it an important help to rid the body of excess fluid.

Inflammation: The polyacetylene in celery is an amazing relief for all inflammation like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, asthma and bronchitis.

Kidney function: Celery promotes healthy and normal kidney function by aiding elimination of toxins from the body. While eliminating toxins, it also prevents formation of kidney stones.

Lower blood pressure: Drinking celery juice every day for a week significantly helps lower blood pressure. A compound called phtalides help relax the muscle around arteries, dilating the vessels and allowing blood to flow normally. To be effective, drink the juice for one week, stop for three weeks, and start over.

Nervous system: The organic alkaline minerals in celery juice has a calming effect on the nervous system, making it a wonderful drink for insomniacs.

Weight loss: Drink celery juice frequently throughout the day. It helps curb your cravings for sweets and rich food.

Urinary stones, breaking of: The diuretic effect of celery juice also aids the breaking and elimination of urinary and gall bladder stones.

You can expect many more healing benefits from celery juice as you consume its natural sodium.

What is HPP?
It's high pressure processing a method that a lot of raw juice companies are using to make juice last anywhere from a month to 2 months. These companies are still claiming the juice is #raw which is false.
HPP juice is always bottled in plastic. Check your expired dates and ask questions.
1) Compressing air or gas increases it's temperature. Claims of no heat used during HPP process are false.

2) Pressure= heat It might as well be flash pasteurized 3) It is only heat that kills the pathogens So then how is it that the enzymes are preserved?? They are not.
You're better off drinking mineral/vitamin water mixed with a fiber supplement. Remember the live enzymes are the catalyst for absorption. Without them you're not cleansing your starving your body. --------------------------------
You're not cleansing you're starving your body. The level to which #consumers are mislead is a real tragedy.

The benefits of spinach are many. Leafy greens like spinach provide more nutrients than any other food, when compared calorie for calorie. Here are some spinach facts to consider: Raw Spinach Bunch

1. This is a very nutrient-dense food. It’s low in calories yet very high in vitamins, minerals and other phytonutrients. When you consume this healthy food, you don’t need to worry about your weight-loss diet as you take in abundant, good-for-you nutrients.

This leafy green is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, magnesium, folate, manganese, iron, calcium, vitamin C, vitamin B2, potassium, and vitamin B6. It’s a very good source of protein, phosphorus, vitamin E, zinc, dietary fiber, and copper. Plus, it’s a good source of selenium, niacin, and omega-3 fatty acids.

2. One of the benefits of spinach is that this green is readily available, nearly all over the world. Even though, with its abundant nutrient profile, it sounds like an amazing super food, it’s still easy to find in the market or easy to grow. In addition, it’s affordable.

3. This is a versatile food. It can be eaten raw in a salad (and is much more nutritious than iceberg lettuce) or a green smoothie. Or it can be cooked (lightly, please) and eaten as a dish on its own or added to soups and other dishes. If boiling, use the least amount of water possible for the shortest time.

4. Spinach is loaded with flavonoids which act as antioxidants, protecting the body from free radicals. Researchers have discovered at least 13 different flavonoid compounds that act as anti-cancer substances. The various nutrients offer much in the way of disease protection.

Remember Popeye? He squeezed those cans of spinach into his mouth and instantly developed muscles and super strength. Well, he also may have been protecting himself against various illnesses and conditions.

5. Another of the benefits of spinach is that this is a heart-healthy food. It’s an outstanding source of vitamins C and A which are antioxidants that help reduce free radical amounts in the body. The antioxidants work to keep cholesterol from oxidizing. In addition, folate is good for a healthy cardiovascular system, as well as magnesium, a mineral that helps to lower high blood pressure.

6. Gastrointestinal health can be guarded by eating more of this food. The beta-carotene and vitamin C work to protect the cells of the body’s colon from the harmful effects of free radicals. Also, DNA damage and mutations in colon cells may be prevented by the folate that’s present in this green leafy vegetable.

7. Some conditions that are identified as inflammatory, such as arthritis, osteoporosis, migraine headaches, and asthma, may be helped because of the anti-inflammatory properties of some of the nutrients found in spinach.

8. Studies have shown that consumption of green leafy vegetables such as spinach may slow the age-related decline in brain function. So, eat your greens and keep working those crossword puzzles to keep your brain young and agile.

9. Have you heard of lutein? It’s a carotenoid found in spinach that is protective against eye diseases such as age-related cataracts and macular degeneration. There is some indication that it might be absorbed better if you eat it with a little fat, such as a small amount of olive oil, or the food that you’re eating it with may contain some fat.

10. The mineral iron is particularly important for menstruating women and growing children and adolescents. In comparison to red meat, spinach provides a lot less calories, is fat and cholesterol free, and an excellent source of iron. Because iron is a component of hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to all body cells, it’s needed for good energy.

You know, it's that curly green stuff you push to one side on your dinner plate and don't bother to eat (because it looks and tastes boring)! Well, here is our advice....

Eat it!...for your health's sake.

Kale is an unbelievably healthy vegetable.

Where do I start?

Ok, here goes...the health benefit of kale. It is an excellent source of...

* Manganese
* Iron
* Copper
* Calcium
* Dietry Fibre
* Vitamin C
* Vitamin B1, B2, B6
* Vitamin E

...as well as a host of other phytonutrients.

But where kale gets an A+ is it's vitamin A content. It is an excellent source of beta carotene. Just one portion of kale is only 36 calories but it provides a massive 192% of your daily vitamin A needs.

Australian research has found that people who eat beta-carotene rich foods are less likely to develop skin cancer. That's not the 'green light' to go running out into the sun, burning to a frazzle, and relying on beta-carotene protection to save you!

Want protection against lung diseases? Exposed to a lot of smoke with the risk of emphysema? If the answer is yes....you need to eat vitamin A rich foods, and kale will definitely help here.

Kale is an excellent source of Vitamin C too. A daily portion of the green stuff provides a whopping 89% of your daily vitamin C requirement.

Vitamin C is associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer, In addition it is also connected with reducing radicals that trigger inflammatory diseases and is therefore associated with reduction of severity of problems such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and asthma.

One portion of kale will cater for 10.5% of your daily fibre requirements.

What does fibre do?

It helps to reduce cholesterol and stop arteries from becoming clogged up. It helps to keep blood sugar under control...great for diabetics.

It is good for people with irritable bowel syndrome as it aids constipation and diarrhea. Also fibre helps provide protection against colon cancer.

Allergic To Cows Milk? Need Calcium? Read On....

Need calcium? Allergic or intollerant to dairy products? Well kale is a great source of calcium...not as high as cow's milk, but does not have the saturated fat associated with cow's milk.....so it is excellent for kids excellent for kids helping with their bone development and adults too.

Kale is also famous for its carotenoids..especially zeaxanthin and lutein....and these can be a great protector against cataracts.

Lutein is a very powerful antioxidant, powerful antioxidant, it has a yellow pigment (the yellow is covered up by chlorophyll in green leaves) with newly discovered powers to fight disease.

Most adults eat about 1 milligram of lutein a day. Experts recommend at least 4-6mg of that powerful disease fighter.

Now get this...Kale contains sulphorane...which only becomes apparent when cruciferous veggies such as kale, cabbage and broccoli are chewed or chopped (that's what gives the sulphorous cabbagy taste).

But it's What sulphorane does that's important. It encourages the liver to produce enzymes that detoxify cancer causing chemicals, especially those connected to chemically-induced breast cancer and colon cancer.

Studies have also shown that sulphorane may protect against genetic cancers too.(i.e cancer caused by a genetic predisposition).

Kale is a member of the brassica family along with cauliflower, collard greens and broccoli. Nice family the brassicas, they are known to be anti-cancerous and they contain glucosinolates.

Apparently there are over 100 different glucosinolates, of which about 15 are present in the brassica family.....and nowhere else!

don't think so!

The health benefit of kale...it really is one of health's superstars.

Parsley’s Many Therapeutic Health Benefits Include Its Use For:

* Anemia: Builds up the blood because it is high in iron. The high vitamin C content assists the absorption of iron.
*Antioxidant: Increases the anti-oxidant capacity of the blood.
*Bactericidal (kills bacteria)
* Bad breath
* Baldness: Believe it or not, men even scrubbed parsley onto their scalps to cure baldness—which doesn’t work.
*Blood purifier
* Blood vessel rejuvenation: Maintains elasticity of blood vessels, and helps to repair bruises.
* Diarrhea is greatly helped by drinking parsley tea.
*Digestion: Parsley is an excellent digestion restorative remedy. It improves the digestion of proteins and fats therefore promoting intestinal absorption, liver assimilation and storage. Because of its high enzyme content, parsley benefits digestive activity and elimination.
* Dissolves cholesterol within the veins
*Diuretic
* Ear health: Treats deafness and ear infections.
* Edema: Acts as a diuretic and blood vessel strengthener.
*Fatigue: Parsley is high in iron so helps repair and provides components for better blood cells.
* Gallstones: Helps dissolve them.
*Glandular support of the liver, spleen, kidneys and adrenal glands.
*Gout
* Hormonal support: In women, parsley improves estrogen and nourishes and restores the blood of the uterus. Conditions like delayed menstruation, PMS, and the menopause (dry skin, irritability, depression and hair loss) can often improve.
* Hormone balancing is achieved through the volatile fatty acids contained in parsley.

* Immune booster: The high vitamin C, beta carotene, B12, chlorophyll and essential fatty acid content render parsley an extraordinary immunity enhancing food. Parsley is an immune-enhancing multi-vitamin and mineral complex in green plant form and one of the most important herbs for providing vitamins to the body.

* Inhibits tumor formation, particularly in the lungs.
* Insect bites: Rub on to relieve the swelling and itch.
*Jaundice
* Kidneys: Parsley is effective for nearly all kidney and urinary complaints except severe kidney inflammation. It improves kidney activity and can help eliminate wastes from the blood and tissues of the kidneys. It prevents salt from being reabsorbed into the body tissues; thus parsley literally forces debris out of the kidneys, liver and bladder. It helps improve edema and general water retention, fatigue and scanty or painful urination.
* Liver congestion: It enriches the liver and nourishes the blood. Parsley helps reduce liver congestion, clearing toxins and aiding rejuvenation.
* Menstrual irregularity: Parsley helps to make the cycles regular by the presence of apiol which is a constituent of the female sex hormone estrogen.
* Menstrual pain
* Night blindness: Bad eyesight is a sign of Vitamin A deficiency.
* Rheumatism
* Spleen strengthening: The parsley root in particular strengthens the spleen, and can, therefore, treat malabsorption.
* Stamina loss and low resistance to infection, point to a sluggish liver. This can manifest itself in blood deficiencies, fatigue, a pale complexion and poor nails, dizzy spells, anemia and mineral depletion.
*Stomach problems
*Strengthens loose teeth: In the Middle Ages parsley was used for many conditions including 'fastening teeth' (Scurvy, which is caused by a Vitamin C deficiency, makes the gums spongy and the teeth loose.)
* Uterine tonic
*Weight loss benefits from being a diuretic

Nutritional Benefits of Parsley:

Parsley is a nutrient powerhouse containing high levels of beta carotene, vitamin B12, folate, chlorophyll, calcium, more vitamin C than citrus fruits, and just about all other known nutrients. Parsley is a moistening, nourishing, restoring, ‘warming’ food, pungent with a slightly bitter, salty flavor. It enhances and stimulates the energy of organs, improving their ability to assimilate and utilize nutrients.

Beta carotene is used for protein assimilation. This nutrient benefits the liver and protects the lungs and colon. Beta-carotene is converted by the body to vitamin A, a nutrient so important to a strong immune system that its nickname is the "anti-infective vitamin."

Chlorophyll Parsley is abundant in chlorophyll, thus purifying and inhibiting the spread of bacteria, fungi and other organisms. Chlorophyll from parsley is slightly anti-bacterial and anti-fungal which acts to enhance immune response and to relieve mucus congestion, sinusitis and other ‘damp’ conditions. Chlorophyll, high in oxygen, also suppresses viruses and helps the lungs to discharge residues from environmental pollution.

Essential Fatty Acids Parsley is a source of alpha-linolenic acid, an important essential fatty acid that is too frequently deficient in today’s diets.

Fluorine is an important nutritional component abundantly found in parsley. Fluorine has an entirely different molecular structure from chemically-produced fluoride. Tooth decay results from a shortage of fluorine, not fluoride. It is the combination of calcium and fluorine which creates a very hard protective surface on teeth and bones. Fluorine also protects the body from infectious invasion, germs and viruses.

Folic Acid, one of the most important B vitamins, but one of its most critical roles in relation to cardiovascular health is to convert homocysteine into benign molecules. Homocysteine is a potentially dangerous molecule that, at high levels, can directly damage blood vessels and increase the risk of heart attacks and stroke in people with atherosclerosis or diabetic heart disease. Folic acid is also a critical nutrient for proper cell division and is therefore vitally important for cancer-prevention in two areas of the body that contain rapidly dividing cells--the colon, and in women, the cervix.

Iron: The iron content of parsley is exceptional with 5.5mg per100g (4oz). A half-cup of fresh parsley or one tablespoon dried has about 10 percent of your iron daily requirements. Plus, parsley has the vitamin C your body needs to absorb that iron.

Protein: Parsley is made up of 20% protein. (About the same as mushrooms.)

Vitamin B12 Parsley contains traces of B12 producing compounds. Such compounds are needed for the formation of red blood cells and normal cell growth, important for fertility, pregnancy, immunity and the prevention of degenerative illness. The action of vitamin B12, however, is inhibited by birth control pills, antibiotics, intoxicants, stress, sluggish liver, and excess bacteria or parasites in the colon or digestive tracts. Parsley helps to counteract these inhibitors.

Vitamin K: Getting at least 100 micrograms of Vitamin K a day can drastically cut your risk of hip fracture. Vitamin K is necessary for bones to get the minerals they need to form properly. Parsley is loaded with vitamin K (180 mcg per 1/2 cup). Cooking parsley nearly doubles its Vitamin K.

Vitamin C: Parsley contains more vitamin C than any other standard culinary vegetable, with 166mg per 100g (4oz). This is three times as much as oranges. Flavonoids, which make up the Vitamin C molecule, maintain blood cell membranes, and act as an antioxidant helper.

Volatile oil components - including myristicin, limonene, eugenol, and alpha-thujene. Parsley's volatile oils, particularly myristicin, have been shown to inhibit tumor formation in animal studies, and particularly, tumor formation in the lungs. It acts as an antioxidant that can help neutralize particular types of carcinogens (like the benzopyrenes that are part of cigarette smoke, charcoal grill smoke, and the smoke produced by trash incinerators).

Parsley also contains calcium (245mg per 100g), phosphorus, potassium (1000mg per 4 oz), manganese (2.7mg per 100g), inositol, and sulphur.

    * Bad breath
    * Gallstones: Helps dissolve them.

    * Menstrual pain
    * Night blindness: Bad eyesight is a sign of Vitamin A deficiency.
    * Rheumatism
    *Strengthens loose teeth: In the Middle Ages parsley was used for many conditions including fastening teeth (Scurvy, which is caused by a Vitamin C deficiency, makes the gums spongy and the teeth loose.)
    * Uterine tonic

Beta-carotene is converted by the body to vitamin A, a nutrient so important to a strong immune system that its nickname is the anti-infective vitamin.

Parsleys volatile oils, particularly myristicin, have been shown to inhibit tumor formation in animal studies, and particularly, tumor formation in the lungs. It acts as an antioxidant that can help neutralize particular types of carcinogens (like the benzopyrenes that are part of cigarette smoke, charcoal grill smoke, and the smoke produced by trash incinerators).

Collards are gaining new respect as nutrition powerhouses -- they're loaded with disease-fighting beta-carotene and offer respectable amounts of vitamin C, calcium, and fiber. All these attributes make cooking greens a wise choice for your diet.

Chicken and Greens recipe.
As fat-fighters, collard greens play the same role as most vegetables, providing few calories but filling stomachs with some fiber and furnishing nutrients galore. Just avoid the traditional way of cooking greens in bacon grease to keep your weight-loss routine sound, and turn collards into true fat-fighting foods.

If you're minimizing calories, you depend on certain foods to provide more than their share of certain nutrients. And cooking greens fill that role for two nutrients in particular.

First, greens contribute an important non-dairy source of calcium that's absorbed almost as well as the calcium found in dairy products. That's good news for those facing the threat of osteoporosis, as calcium is one of many factors crucial to bone health.

Second, collards are an excellent source of vitamin A, mostly in the form of beta-carotene, which has been shown to help protect against cancer, heart disease, cataracts, and other diseases of aging through its antioxidant properties. Vitamin A also helps keep the immune system strong. Other carotenoids found in greens may be just as potent cancer conquerors as well, but research is continuing. The outer leaves of greens usually contain more beta-carotene than do the inner leaves. Dandelion greens are bursting with twice the vitamin A of other greens.

Dark, leafy greens are also a good source of the antioxidant vitamin C. Many of the greens contain appreciable amounts of magnesium (good for bone and heart health) and the B vitamin team of folate and B6 (also good for heart health).

Folate by itself offers a few additional health boosters. It helps in the production of red blood cells and in normal nerve function. And by helping to reduce homocysteine levels in the blood, it may help prevent dementia and bone fractures in people with osteoporosis.

These greens are also rich sources of phytochemicals, such as the carotenoid called lutein and lipoic acid. Lutein is proving itself to be a protector of vision -- helping to prevent age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. Lipoic acid is an antioxidant and also helps to regenerate vitamin C and vitamin E in the body. Because of the particular role lipoic acid plays in energy production, it's being investigated as a possible regulator of blood sugar.

To reap the benefits of all the nutrients in dark, leafy greens, include them often in your 21/2 cups of daily vegetables. They will be a boon to your health while helping with weight loss, since they are so low in calories.
